Reading Hebrew Emails
From Efrat
For historical reasons, often Hebrew emails arrive as gibberish. Often, the emails can be read by playing with the character encoding of the email.
[edit] Gmail
In Gmail, there is an option on every email: Message Text Garbled?. This option will open a new browser window and give you instructions on how to view the gibberish.
[edit] Website Converter
There is a website (http://info.org.il/hebrew_magic.php) that will convert gibberish back to Hebrew.
Go to the site and "copy and paste" your gibberish into the conversionwindow. Press the conversion button (in Hebrew "המר"), and in a few seconds you have the Hebrew restored in the bottom window.
The gibberish can be a product of any program, this is not limited to Hebrew emails.
